Pregnancy & Postpartum Therapy

Transitioning into motherhood or navigating grief with understanding is possible.

We spend so much time preparing for birth, we often neglect to prepare for the unexpected and postpartum.

Help is available.

You desire to be a great mother, and the expectations and realities of motherhood comes with intense pressure.

Knowing what to expect is helpful, but nothing quite prepares you for the rollercoaster of trying to conceive, pregnancy or mothering. I truly believe motherhood is a portal to much of our healing.

You may struggle with fertility, or experience a loss in pregnancy. Sometimes scary thoughts arrive and relationships experience high levels of stress during the time of trying to conceive.

Postpartum can be challenging as you likely sleep intermittently, worry and question yourself as a new parent or partner. After birth, you may watch the baby sleep and question who you have become, or if your baby is even yours.

Sometimes, the old expectations and roles you once played with family can be challenged due to boundaries, on top of a crying little one postpartum. Feelings of depression can land unexpectedly all the while you’re likely trying to unpack and process your birth experience.

You’re not alone, mothers/parents are kind of like a forgotten species in modern Western cultures.

I’m happy to hold space for you to share your thoughts, shout, cry, confused, find your identity or unpack your triggers. All those things you maybe feel aren’t normal and you’re not allowed to be experiencing.

Prenatal and Postpartum counselling is a space where you can be authentically you, feel less isolated, ask questions and hopefully a sense of relief from the unexpected path pregnancy or parenting often brings us down.

“Sacred truth, mothers need to be mothered. It really does take a village, but most question where the heck the village is”
